How To Help WCW's Ratingsposted 6/18/99Here's my two cents worth. Hope you enjoy! 1. Intensify the Old Guy/Young Gun Feud. This is the best storyline WCW has put together in quite some time. The fact that Piper and Flair have teamed up seems to indicate that WCW recognizes the potential of this feud. An interesting next step could be to have Hogan come back from his injury and demand that Nash dump the title to him again a la the infamous "one finger push" match, have Nash tell him to get bent, and add their talent to the feud. 2. Re-sign Jericho!!!! For the love of God, why hasn't WCW done this already??? He is the perfect combination of mic skills and ring savvy to add to the old/young feud. Letting him leave would make the score WWF 2, WCW 0. 3. Do Something About the NWO. Once the best angle in either promotion, the NWO seems to have fallen apart. Remember the whole "for life" thing -- why is it that Sting, Luger, Savage and a host of others have jumped ship with no retribution? At the very least, Nash should dump every last guy in the Black and White B-Team. The only people worth saving are Stevie Ray, and possibly the personality-bereft Scott Norton. At the best, he could disband the NWO when he has his conflict with Hogan above. 4. Realize that Ernest Miller = Ratings Death. If I have to see Scott Norton vs. The Cat one more time, it had better be in a "loser retires" match. In my mind, the best thing to do would be to have Miller do his "I wanna whoop somebody" schtick, and instead of Norton running out, have Sid run to the ring and absolutely destroy him. It would help put Sid over as the crazy force of destruction, and end an EXTREMELY tiresome angle. 5. More Lucha and Cruiserweight Action. The WCW has such a huge advantage over the WWF in high-flying wrestlers. Every show should have at least one Mexican tag team or quality cruiserweight matchup. There's plenty of talent to choose from: Psychosis, La Parka, Mysterio, Juvi, Damian, El Vampiro, Kaz Hayashi, Kidman and many more. Questions or comments?
