How Do The Rankings Work?
The rankings are calculated from matches on Nitro, Thunder, and Pay-Per-View. I don't count Saturday Night, because (a) almost nothing important happens on that show and (b) I don't want to keep stats for the sea of nobodies on that show. A total of three points can be won in every match. In my world, there are five types of results:
NAME CW CL TW TL NC Total Per Match
Mysterio 12 2 3 3 3 49.5 2.15
- CW = Clean Win
- You win the match fair and square with no outside interference. A wrestler gets three points for a clean win.
- CL = Clean Loss
- You lose. Period. No points for you.
- TW = Tainted Win
- You won the match, but some kind of monkey business happened. You might have used a foreign object when the ref wasn't looking, your opponent might have been disqualified. You won, but it's not due to sheer talent, so you only get partial credit.
Any scenario of this type gains you two points.
- TL = Tainted Loss
- You lost in some sort of screwy ending. It wasn't necessarily your fault, so you get a point.
- NC = No Contest
- There was no conclusion to the match - the most common cause for this is the "mass chaos" ending where everybody and their mother runs out from the back and starts a gigantic brawl. The wrestlers split the points - 1.5 each.
The Total is exactly what you might think - add up all the points from the matches according to the results above. If you really want to see the formula, it is 3*CW + 2*TW + NC + 1.5NC.
The Per Match score is the Total divided by the number of matches.
