Hall of Robots
ReplicantsFeatured in the film "Blade Runner" (1982)The brainchildren of Dr. Eldon Tyrell, replicants are extremely realistic robots with incredible strength and a maximum mental capacity at least equal to humans. For reasons unknown, it's illegal for these robots to be on earth, under penalty of death (to the replicant, that is). The most recent line of replicants - the "Nexus 6" models - were so advanced that the creators were afraid they would develop their own emotional responses, so they were equipped with a failsafe mechanism - a four year lifespan.Not much is known about their creation, a man named "Chew" created their eyes, and a genetic programmer named J.F. Sebastian had something to do with their creation, but that's about all we know aside from the following information shown to the blade runner charged with hunting them down and "retiring" them.

One of them was "fried running through an electrical field". However, this leaves one of them unaccounted for. I've heard many theories about this fact, ranging from a script error to the idea that Harrison Ford's character is actually the sixth one. A seventh Nexus 6 model is mentioned in the movie. She is named Rachael and works at the Tyrell corporation. Somehow during her construction she had the memories of Tyrell's niece implanted within her brain.
