Ring of Terror (Experiment #206)

Plot: Set in the early 50's , this incredibly slothful film focuses on a group of 40-somethings passed off as medical students at Anywhere University. Our main character is Lewis Moffet, a fifty-five year old med student with a penchant for "Mister Rogers'" cardigans. Lewis maintains that he is "afraid of nothing" and wrangles rattlesnakes and cadavers with ease. Betty, Lewis's girlfriend and a dead-ringer for the Recessa-Annie CPR doll, loves Lewis, but is always afraid because others are afraid because Lewis is never afraid???????? The couple's social scene revolves around rushing a fraternity, dehumanizing plus-size people, and waiting for somebody to buy the farm so the middle-agers can observe their first autopsy.

Through a series of nightmare sequences and a very ill-plotted wake (????), we learn that our Mr. Moffet has a deep-seeded secret; he's afraid of the dark. His fear of the dark began after the wake of his grand-dad which was held in his front room (poor kid!). Lewis's mother, in an attempt to get him to go to sleep, threatened that his dead gran-dad would rise from the dead and "whoop him" if he did not go to bed. What a loving caregiver. Anyway, as part of his fraternity hazing, Louis must break into the local mausoleum and steal a ring off the hand of the guy they had autopsied earlier in the day. Those kooky frats! In the process of absconding with the ring, Lewis is startled by a cat, hooks his shirt on the cadaver, and keels over from a heart attack. The End. Oh the humanity! He should have known to watch his cholestoral at his age!!!

• Look for Tom's haircut; Tom is sporting a completely cylindrical head throughout this episode.
