The Killer Shrews (Experiment #407)Starring: James Best (best known as Roscoe P. Coltrane on the Dukes oF Hazzard)Plot: Boat captain Roscoe P. Coltrane and his "Dixieland Jazz" playing firstmate travel to a remote island to pick up some mysterious cargo and drop off supplies. On the island, the two encounter a "germanish" scientist, his foxy daughter ( who has a coffee-making fetish), a Latino guard, and a trigger-happy Festus from Gunsmoke, who are all living in a compound-like deal. When a hurricane (how convenient) grounds the ship, Roscoe discovers the scientist has been conducting genetic experiments on shrews, growing them to German-shepard size. Turns out, Pops "shrewed" up and set a whole bunch of big ass shrews out onto the island and now they're starving. Oops. Anyway, the shrews eat various people and the rest of the household escapes to Roscoe's boat under big metal drums. Moral of the story: don't tamper in God's domain. Notable Notes: This episode was shown with the short Junior Rodeo Daredevils, in which a Wilford Brimley look-alike blackmails a couple of kids into putting on a child's rodeo for the townsfolk. Be sure to catch ALL the inhumanity. Yee-ha!
