Subject: How did I end up with all these girly-men??

You know, on paper I felt pretty good about my offense
leaving the auction: some definite high-average power stroke
blue-chippers. The first week backed me up on that. But
since???

What happens? Tony Clark, batting a major-league worst
.135---so bad his team can't even give him away....A $6+ Juan
Gonzalez batting .235, with 4 piddly little homers....Jeromy
Burnitz, batting .206, just hits his first homer in nearly a
month. OK, so guys will slump sometime, but this is
ridiculous. And all at the same time! Although
out-of-nowhere Brian Daubach and 30-cent Mike Sweeney have
been picking up the slack, these clowns are doing so badly
that those performances are just wasted. Sigh.

Oh, well, it looks like the pennant race is over this year
already anyway, so I can just hope to fall into 10th place
when the free agent feeding frenzy begins.
